This year’s recipient of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors Rookie of the Year award brings a background in finance and corporate strategy to bear in her role as an office landlord representative.

A graduate of Washington & Lee University with degrees in business administration and Spanish, Liz Koteles is a vice president with JLL’s Agency Leasing Group in Atlanta.

Prior to joining JLL in 2014, Koteles started her career in 2009 as an analyst for VRA Partners, an Atlanta-based boutique investment banking firm. While there, she provided M&A, financial advisory, and private placement services to middle-market companies.

In 2011, she assumed the role of corporate strategy and business development manager for Novelis Inc., the Atlanta-based rolled aluminum products and recycling giant, where her job focused on advising the CEO and parent company in strategic investment decisions.

The commercial real estate bug bit her during the years Atlanta was working its way out of the Great Recession that had hit in 2008.

“Coming out of college, I did not even consider real estate as a career, but at the same time, I’ve always been interested in the skyline and what’s going on in the city,” Koteles said.
