White House counselor Kellyanne Conway got in a sparring match Sunday over what “This Week” host George Stephanopoulos asserted were conflicting statements on Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a Russian lawyer.

“The president weighed in as a father, he did not dictate the statement,” Conway said about the White House’s response to the meeting.

But Stephanopoulos continued to prod, saying the president’s attorney Jay Sekulow and White House press secretary Sarah Sanders had different takes on how the statement was drafted. The host pointed out that Sanders said President Trump did offer input. Meanwhile Sekulow last week denied the president’s involvement.
