OAKLAND, Calif. – The wife of Pulse nightclub gunman Omar Mateen will face a California judge Wednesday for a bond hearing.

FBI agents arrested Noor Salman Jan. 16 on the charges of aiding and abetting and obstruction of justice in connection to the June 12 massacre that left 49 people slain.

A court document filed Tuesday indicates that Salman’s defense team will argue that she should be freed because she’s been under FBI surveillance since the attack but hasn’t tried to flee.

Prosecutors said it’s now a different situation because Salman faces life in prison.

Salman’s relatives said they believe that she had no knowledge of Mateen’s plans to carry out the attack.

But WFTV legal analyst Bill Shaeffer said it’s not an easy argument for her defense team.
